Safe and Effective Vehicle Recovery

Can a standard vehicle, with a standard bumper ( including its skirt) be safely recovered when "bogged"?

Will this recovery, using a snatchum strap, damage the front bumper and the skirt?

I don't have any attachment points on my chassis or bumper (front and rear), so what can I do??

To test the ADR we took 3 Tdi Discoveries up into the sandy country south of Cameron's Corner.
One vehicle had the ADR fitted prior to leaving, and the 2nd ADR was fitted in the sand, just prior to a challenging piece of this interesting area. You can see the marks made in the sand during fitting in the above photos.

Here we can see what happens to a standard vehicle as it becomes bogged, not once but twice.

ADR pulled out from behind skirt, and then snatchum strap attached

Well one test wasn't enough, so we had to go further and see if we could get stuck again. Sure enough, and this was better than the first!

Really stuck!

OK, so what did the front skirt look like at the end of the trip?

The blue rope was used as a safety strap for the shackle, and after the recovery was used as a temporary holder for the ADR.
